As the Founder of the US-ASEAN Digital Asset Council, I had the privilege of attending the Bitcoin Policy Institute’s 2025 conference in Washington, DC, held June 25-26 at the Ronald Reagan Building. The event brought together policymakers, academics, and industry leaders for a two-day dialogue on Bitcoin’s future, with a strong focus on its strategic role for the United States.

The conference highlighted the Bitcoin Policy Institute’s advocacy for U.S. legislation that positions Bitcoin as a key asset. Discussions centered on a potential Strategic Bitcoin Reserve, supported by bipartisan voices, to bolster national security and economic competitiveness. Panels emphasized the need for clear regulatory frameworks, including market structure bills and stablecoin legislation, to foster innovation while addressing risks. The Institute’s push for policies aligning with American values—financial freedom, human rights, and energy innovation—resonated throughout, offering a roadmap for the U.S. to lead in the digital asset race.
This summit underscored Bitcoin’s growing influence and the critical role of thoughtful legislation, inspiring our Council’s mission to bridge U.S. and ASEAN digital asset ecosystems.
